Together By
Judith Bakkensen I
watch her towel dry her hair after her shower.
Her body is so slender and youthful.
Her arms and legs are toned, probably from her windsurfing.
I see her lacy faint stretch marks from carrying her two children to
life. I see scars that come with
memories. She smiles and tells me
how muscular I look and how proud she is of me.
We
hug. After we dressed, we grabbed a blanket and went out to the porch to enjoy the morning. We played, talked, and laughed. We shared our soul stories. We shared our deep love.
We
enjoy our child selves and woman selves in each other. In these perfect moments,
we are thankful we are sisters. |
