Choice by Cathleen E. Mohr
Someone tried to place my spirit in a container. I let them. I am more than a body now. If my flesh was melted down, I would still move and breathe. I would breathe fire. If my liquid body was poured into a mould, it would crack and expand with the force of my mind. If someone put me in a cage, where only brave parts of me reached out and only curious hands snuck in, I would become vapor and float through steel to fly free. If someone cemented my feet to sink me in murky water, I would rise with verve to shatter the surface. There is no form to hold me. The choice is mine. - |
