A New Woman Books Adventure

The phone rang at New Woman Books.  I always think, oh good, a customer calling.  The customer said,  "Hello, this is Louise,  I ordered a book, "The End of December".  I was wondering if it was in yet."

 

I felt a twinge of panic.  I usually remember all the books I am trying to get for my customers.  Yet, "The End of December" did not sound at all familiar.  I asked her to wait while I looked into it.  I looked in the computer.  I looked at the books on order.  I looked at books I haven't found yet.  The book, "The End of December" was not there.  Was it a romance book?  How could I have lost an order?  Was my memory worse than I thought?

 

I quickly got back on the phone and said,  " I am so sorry, I have no record of the book, "The End of December"." 

 

Louise began laughing, "No, dear.  That's not the name of the book, that's when I ordered it."
